I am not in the business of shipping parts to customers 2 day air and then they find out they misdiagnosed their truck and installed the resistor in the PMD. Then find out that the old PMD they are replacing is not defective and is not the cause of their problem. The encoder and the optical sensor on the 6.5L GM injection pump can also give similar symptoms of shut down and hot start issues. Not just the PMD. If it ever fails call Flight Systems, provide original proof of purchase and they will take care of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!  See if those off shore PMD companies will do that for you???? Flight will require you to send the PMD to them and it will be tested. If it isn’t defective they will return it to you at your expense on shipping. If it is defective they will send you a replacement. That said in ten years of selling these I know of less than 12 that have been defective out of almost 11 thousand I have bought and resold.

FYI the Flight PMD uses the standard flat pin plug that has been used since 1994. Stanadayne, the manufacturer of the original PMD that had so much of a heat failure problem, currently uses a different plug end. Be sure you confirm which plug end you have on your injection pump so you know this product will plug right it and be ready to operate when you receive it. If you have a later style/type plug in you can take a sharp razor blade and slice off the “keyway” on the plug and it will plug in and work fine so technically you can use this PMD for ANY electronically
